A Week One NFC East Battle and the Jets at Bills

The NFL season is finally upon us!

Time for the best of the best to step onto the field and showcase their talent. The NFL season brings plenty of opportunity to talk smack to friends, cheer on your team, and witness stunning games and plays. From Aaron Rodgers throwing hail marys to Von Miller’s famous strip sacks, we are beyond excited for this NFL season.

Last week we introduced our Game of the Week (Preview or Review) Series for College Football. This is our first game of the week article for the NFL. As the season continues, we hope this will provide many learning experiences that you can use in your personal and business life. We want to stir up conversations at the office. Talk sports and business! It’s what we do at SportsEpreneur.

So let’s get into the Game of the Week for Week 1.

Sunday Night Football! The New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys at Jerry’s World in an NFC East Battle. This rivalry is turning into something big for the sport of football. Seems like every year this rivalry gets better as these teams improve.

The Giants are coming off an 11-5 record in 2016 and had the Cowboys number last season, beating them in both matchups. One key player to watch is star receiver Odell Beckham Jr, he suffered an ankle injury and has been held out of practice leading up to the matchup. Lets see if this injury is more than it seems and how it affects his play. The Giants want the division title to be theirs and that starts with this week 1 matchup.

And then there is America’s Team, The Dallas Cowboys, coming off an impressive 2016 that fell short in the playoffs with a loss in the NFC Championship game. The big storyline last season was the outstanding play from their two rookies, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot.

The biggest storyline in this game is Ezekiel Elliot. With his suspension being upheld and the court not being able to come to a decision in time, Zeke will be available to suit up for the first game of the season. His 6 game suspension will begin week 2. It will be interesting to see how Zeke comes out. If you asked me, you will see a post suspension Tom Brady esque performance heading into the sophomore’s suspension.

The winner of this game may not win the NFC East title, but it gives them a great start.

Our Rooting Interest for this NFC East Battle?

None! Though we cheer for the other two teams in New York, it’s hard to hate the Giants when they took down our rival New England Patriots twice in the Super Bowl. We are al in for a great Sunday Night matchup coming down to the wire!

Who is going to win the game?

I am going with the Giants by 3. This game will come down to the wire. The improved Giants team is coming out to prove they belong atop the division. Look for a last second field goal for the win.

Intern vs CEO
You may be surprised that this game made the list. However, Eric is a suffering Bills fan and I am a suffering Jet fan so this is a classic rivalry game. While this may be one of the worst games of the week, we are always tuned in to watch our teams bring us pain!
