AthMindset | Four-Time Olympian and Athletes Soul Founder, Myriam Glez

Giving back to the athletic community — through Athletes Soul.

In this AthMindset episode, Lisa Bonta Sumii, LCSW, CSW, shares space with Myriam Glez, founder and CEO of non-profit Athletes Soul and French-Australian Olympic synchronized swimmer. Myriam joins us to explore topics related to mental health including athlete’s retirement.

Amazing accomplishment alert!! ➡️ Myriam has participated in four different Olympic games for four different countries!

Myriam’s organization, Athletes Soul, supports athletes in their transition to retirement. The program provides free services and support to athletes. This includes mentorship, community building, and “raising awareness of the challenges of athletic retirement”. Myriam Glez has made a practice of balancing a steadfast dedication to athleticism with a true passion for academics. This balance is what has brought her opportunities for success in her post-career ventures, allowing her to help those athletes that need it most.

Her clear visualization of her goals allowed her to achieve academic and athletic goals. She always was engrained with a persistent belief that she had the freedom to achieve those goals despite any adversity. She also credits her network of supporters for her success. She now provides important resources through her non-profit for countless athletes.
